Foxhill Thoroughbreds is a boutique farm offering a full range of thoroughbred services, from breaking-in to training.

We share a deep passion for the thoroughbred industry, bringing a wealth of knowledge and international expertise to the horses in our care.

A highly regarded horseman, Benji was raised on his family’s Brighthill Farm. He further developed his expertise at Vinery Stud in Australia, where he was responsible for the care of some of Australasia’s leading stallions, both on-farm and in quarantine. He is also a graduate of the Irish National Stud Scholarship and the Sunline Educational Trust International Management Scholarship, through which he gained invaluable global experience.

Born and raised in Taranaki, Lena also brings extensive hands-on international experience, having worked in leading operations abroad, including Coolmore in the USA and Australia, Kelly Schweida Racing in Queensland, and Te Akau Racing in New Zealand.

Driven to broaden our experience within the racing industry further, we worked alongside legendary Kiwi horseman Mark Todd at his racing yard in England, before returning to New Zealand where Lena returned to Te Akau Racing, where she spent a total of eight-and-a-half years, with Benji also joining the leading stable that was then in the hands of four-time Champion New Zealand trainer, Jamie Richards.

Our strong foundations in breeding, combined with our experience in racing, have provided us with the ideal platform from which to establish Foxhill Thoroughbreds. We understand and value the care, time, and education invested in every horse from an early stage.

We take a detailed and very hands on approach, based on individual attention and sound horsemanship to produce horses that are confident, fit, and ready to perform.
